Playgroups provide an opportunity for children to meet their peers on a regular basis and for parents to get to know other families with children of similar ages. For new mothers and fathers they can be a wonderful way to touch base with other new parents, and for stay-at-home parents they offer fun social activities during the week. VHMPA probably already has a playgroup to meet your needs (babies born between January and May, for example, or a week-end group for working parents, or a group for rising Morningside Elementary kindergartners).
